The Stronger than Espresso Story

Thank you for being here!

Stronger than Espresso® specializes in a Biblical approach to connect, encourage, educate, coach, mentor, and train survivors of domestic abuse. It offers a place of HOPE where women can HEAL and HELP others claim victory over adversity.

The Stronger than Espresso® program began as a "God whisper" and specializes in encouragement, education, coaching and mentoring services. This training program focuses on supporting victims of domestic violence when they are finally ready to let go of their past and help them claim victory after adversity. The training program is built with variations in mind to meet your needs. The Participant Guide is for individual use alone, or to achieve the full benefit of the program, join classes in your area or online. Using the Leader Guide, you can conduct classes in your church, in your community or in your home after attending a training session. Mentorship connections are created for a support system during the coursework and beyond.

As a survivor of domestic abuse I know the journey to recovery is long and difficult. In the critical stages of my abuse, there were resources for emergency care and access to counseling that was desperately needed. The real challenge for me was in the years to follow. Low self-esteem, self-doubt, fear, anxiety, and depression remained. Unhealthy habits, self-destructive behaviors, symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, inability to concentrate, and panic attacks were overwhelming. Challenged with the prospect of identifying a healthy love or establishing a new relationship was daunting. In this journey, God's love was always there but I never gave it the attention or trust that it deserved. It wasn't until I finally accepted His love into my life that the lasting journey to recovery could begin.

As a woman I learned that I could be free from my own repeat patterns, bad relationships and unhealthy coping mechanisms. Trusting God was the key ingredient I had missed. Once I learned to trust God I finally restored to a healthy, vibrant individual.

As a mother I knew that I had to be the best "me" I could for my kids.

As an educator I believe that individuals learn and retain information best when they connect with others. The educational process is more vibrant, creative and long-lasting when groups interact versus being alone. Rebuilding takes time and hard work, and you need to connect with others to help along the way.

Foundational Scripture

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

1 John 1:5–7 (NIV)

There are five stages for the Stronger than Espresso healing process:

1.    A Jolt Awake moment to come out of denial to receive help.

2.    Identify coping skills used to survive.

3.    Understanding abusive relationships.

4.    Building your self-esteem.

5.    Redefining your life in terms of your 7 Key Ingredients:

God, Body, Soul, Mind, Words, Lessons and Relationships
